I realize the community updates have been rather few and far between, but life has been very busy the last few months. Praise the Lord though, I finally had the time to give this community (and its wonderful users) the attention they deserve. :) Speaking of which, lol, there's a lot to update you on so please bear with me.
First, we now have new mood icons that are blue to match the layout, and a new avatar to match the main banner. Why am I mentioning this? Well, because your mod happens to be an admitted perfectionist and likes things to color-coordinate. It makes her happy. (Just nod and smile, and keep reading, lol. ;) )
Next, and probably the most important, the tag system has been redone to hopefully make the archive easier to search through. The biggest difference is that there are now tags for each author, as well as tags for ratings. The fandom and genre tags are essentially the same, but each now has a prefix attached, labeling it as such. (ex: fandom: star wars, genre: star wars action) Please make sure to add your author tags and rating tags to any of your new posts. There is also now a tag for introductions, so if this is your first post, and you're posting an intro with a fic or testimony, please make sure to use that tag as well.
I went through the archive and added the new tags, as well as correcting a few that somehow got switched in the tag change-over, so Lord willing, all the tags should be correct, and the archive organized. If you find anything that's tagged incorrectly or missing a tag, please comment on this post and let me know.
And, even if it's long overdue for quite a few people, I wanted to give a very warm welcome to all our new members, and our great new authors! We're still a small community, but praise God, we're growing. And who knows where God will take us next?
Last of all, I edited the community info quite a bit, including a more-detailed description of the new tag system. The rules are essentially the same, they're just hopefully a little more clear now. I also added one more general rule:
If you wish to submit ads for other LJ communities or websites, please clear it with the mod first.
I don't mind accepting advertising from other Christian communities, clean-fan fic communities, or websites, but if you want to submit an ad for any of those, please email me, PM me, or post on my journal first, so that I can make sure the ad will fit here before you submit it. :)
And finally, speaking of ads... (and I'm the mod, so this is already pre-approved, lol ;) )
I hope that if you enjoy it here at the Christian Fan Fiction Gathering, that you'll also check out another archive I have been working on:
The rules are the same as this community, and so far there are over 100 fics posted there.
Take care and God bless, everyone! :)

Date: 2009-03-07 08:25 am (UTC)It's actually kind of funny too, because you're a writer I've been meaning to ask about NOTW. I've really enjoyed all of the stories of yours I've read, and it would be fantastic to have your fics at NOTW. :)
If you're interested, please let me know. :)

Date: 2009-03-07 11:15 pm (UTC)Just so you know, it may take me a little while to get to your fics. There are four other authors whose work I still have to post or finish posting, and three of them have over thirty fics, and two of them will have their stories directly on the site which takes a little longer than linking. Lord willing it won't be too long of a wait though. I just have to pace myself, lol. And maybe try to find some willing people for staff too, if this keeps up, lol.
