Title: Ever After
Author: LaughtersMelody
Rating: G
Fandom: Dark Angel
Disclaimer: It's not mine, but I still wish it were, even after all this time.
Genre: Romance/Humor/Family
Pairing: Max/Alec
Type: One-Shot
Spoilers: Takes place after "Freak Nation," so spoilers for almost everything before that.
Characters: Max
Secondary Characters: Alec, supporting characters and original characters
Summary: A story like hers could never have a happy ending…at least, she hadn't thought so. Max POV. Written in snapshots. Lighthearted.

A/N: This has been hanging around on my computer for years, but I never seemed to be able finish it. But, praise God, I wound up inspired to complete it for the het_marriage promptathon. :) It doesn't answer any specific prompt, but it traces the course of Max and Alec's marriage. Also, this fic is fluff. Almost complete and total fluff, lol. But I like to think of it as fluff with an edge. ;)

A/N2: This fic is also a slightly belated birthday present for my very dear friend and sister in Christ, [livejournal.com profile] roselani24. Happy Birthday!

My apologies for this being a little late. Anyone following my journal knows why, though praise God, everything is okay now.

So, without further ado, here are the prompts for Week 3.

Marriage is not easy. Arguments, hardships, money problems, betrayal of some kind… There’s an almost endless list of things that can go wrong. Sometimes, those problems mean the end of the marriage. But, marriages can and do survive storms, and even come out stronger for them. The storms that marriages face…that’s what the theme will be for this week. :)

This way to the prompts… )

Every marriage needs romance, so for week two, that’s what we’ll focus on. :) What would your favorite fictional couple do for a romantic evening? How do they surprise each other? Make time for each other? (Gentle reminder, especially given the topic: don’t forget that fics should remain PG-13 and below. Thanks! :) )

Hi, everyone! Welcome to the official start of the marriage promptathon. Our prompt theme for this week is the marriage vows.

Chances are you’ve heard them before, or maybe you’ve even taken them yourself. :) But what do they really mean to the marriage? And how would your favorite fictional couple give their vows? Are they the traditional types? Or would they write their own?

It is, of course, up to you, but if you need some inspiration, hopefully this post can help with that. :)

This way to the prompts… )

Maybe you’ve looked at the marriage prompts posted for the week and you’re just not interested them. Or maybe you have a great idea for a prompt of your own.

If you’re in either on of those categories, hopefully, you’ll like this thread. Still need prompts? Look here. Want to post an idea? Comment here. :)

All prompts about marriage are welcome in this thread. Word prompts, written prompts, song prompts, Bible verse prompts, picture prompts...prompts of some type that I am forgetting, lol...if you have them, just add them to this post in a comment. You never know who it might inspire!

Some extra prompts beneath the cut… )

Note: The promptathon is now officially over, but you're still welcome to respond to the prompts if you'd like to. I'll keep this post up for a while yet, just so everything for the propmptathon is easily accessible.

If you'd like to help advertise for the promptathon, this is the post for you. :)

Here is a preview of what the ad will look like:

Do you have a favorite het couple that's tied the knot in canon? Write about them and their marriage! Or, is there a het couple you ship that's never actually made it down the aisle? Here’s your chance to fix that, and explore what could have been, or might still be! Just come and join us for the het_marriage promptathon on [livejournal.com profile] christianfanfic.

You don’t have to be a Christian to come and post! Everyone is welcome! We only ask that you follow the rules of the comm, which can be found here, on our community info page.

For more specifics about the promptathon, and a few rules, please see this post. Prompts begin June 1st, and last through the month. :)

Hi, everyone. :)

When I posted the prompts for May, I mentioned that I had something different in mind for June prompts. I’ve been wanting to do something that will hopefully inspire more writers and prompt - pun intended - more interaction on the comm. :) And, a conversation with a good friend of mine, cruorem, gave me an idea. We were talking about the sad way that marriage is often portrayed in fics - either it’s ignored completely, or it’s shown in a sad light, or it’s twisted somehow. And we both agreed that it would be really nice to see marriage celebrated for once.

So, for the month of June, that’s exactly what CFF will do. :) We are going to have a marriage promptathon.
