I'm still overdue for a fic round-up over here--and may have to break it into separate posts by fandom--but here for a start are two fics I've recently written for the Warner Brothers TV Westerns Universe. Blanket warning for sensitive history regarding the Sioux and Northern Cheyenne nations between 1874 and 1876, which isn't necessarily depicted accurately in the shows.

Also, in case the timeline of the episodes referenced is confusing: there's a two-year gap in the events of "Gold, Glory, and Custer: Prelude" into which (IMO) "Legacy of the Lost" and (canonically) "Duel at Judas Basin" fall, in that order, even though those episodes come from later seasons. Sugarfoot is more serialized and thus does better with keeping a consistent timeline from one episode to the next, but Cheyenne and Bronco both jump from 1870 in one ep to 1876 the next, then to 1880, then back to 1866!

Title: Bequests, Birthrights, and Brothers
Author: San Antonio Rose ([livejournal.com profile] ramblin_rosie)
Rating: PG
Fandom: Cheyenne (cameos from Sugarfoot and Bronco)
Spoilers: Coda to 6.8 "Legacy of the Lost"; also some spoilers for 4.7 "Gold, Glory, and Custer: Prelude"
Genre: Angst, adventure, family
Pairing: Gen
Summary: Cheyenne may have failed to broker peace between Lionel Abbot and White Cloud, but he's about to discover that he does have a family after all--maybe more than one.
Note: Complete in three parts; each part links to the next.

( White Cloud is ill—it’s his heart. He calls for Grey Fox. )

Title: Happiness Is a Cold Nose
Author: San Antonio Rose ([livejournal.com profile] ramblin_rosie)
Rating: PG
Fandom: Cheyenne/Sugarfoot/Bronco
Spoilers: For the Cheyenne two-parter "Gold, Glory, and Custer" (4.7-8); also mild spoilers for the three-way crossover episode "Duel at Judas Basin" (Cheyenne 5.7)
Warning: Post-traumatic depression and survivor guilt
Genre: Hurt/comfort, friendship
Pairing: Gen
Type: One-shot (technically a sequel to "Bequests, Birthrights, and Brothers" but doesn't have to be read that way)
Summary: In the aftermath of the Little Bighorn, Tom and Bronco have found Cheyenne ill, injured, and isolated. They can help with the physical wounds, but the mental ones might require a different form of therapy.

( I ain't seen 'im like this since his pa died. )

"In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." -- 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Title: De Profundis
Author: San Antonio Rose ([livejournal.com profile] ramblin_rosie)
Rating: PG-13 for thematic elements (depression, grief, suicidal ideation)
Fandom: Girl Genius
Spoilers: Slight spoilers for recent canon (Act 2, Vol. 2); goes AU from Agatha Heterodyne and the Clockwork Princess (Vol. 5)
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Studio Foglio in any way, and this story is not known to or approved by the good Professors.
Genre: Angst, hurt/comfort, some romance
Pairing: Gil/Agatha, unrequited Lars/Agatha, eventual Lars/OFC
Type: Canon-divergent AU; complete in five parts, ~25,000 words (which I shall post as quickly as our lovely and gracious mod will let me!)
A/N: I've done my best to keep this story a "for want of a nail" AU, but there are a few bits of headcanon and some speculation and elements of deuterocanon that worked their way in. You can read more about one particular bit of headcanon in my first GG story, The Perfect Cover. If you're not familiar with GG, you may want to at least glance over the first few volumes to get a sense of the characters; the full run of the comic is available free online. Also, despite the thematic grimness, I promise it has a happy ending!

Summary: "Oh, very good, sir. I'm sure you'll manage to damage yourself this time." -- Ardsley Wooster, Agatha Heterodyne and the Clockwork Princess

While Agatha is still on the road from Passholdt to Sturmhalten, a split second's inattention leaves Gil with a broken back and a crushed spirit. Wooster and Higgs rush him to Mechanicsburg, but can the Jägers get Agatha to him in time to restore his will to live? What will Klaus do when he learns of Gil's disappearance? And how will matters progress if Master Payne's players take the stage in Sturmhalten with the wrong actress playing Lucrezia?

Dead Man's Curve, it's no place to play... )

I finally found the mislaid art! So I'll try to post a chapter a day. :)

Title: Gwaith i Innas Lain: Quenta Ambarmetto (Supernatural/Silmarillion AU Seventh Age crossover; SPN references through 6.01 "Exile on Main Street")
Author: San Antonio Rose ([livejournal.com profile] ramblin_rosie)
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] citrine2
Betas: [livejournal.com profile] ansostuff, [livejournal.com profile] nuranar, [livejournal.com profile] jennytork
Cheerleader: [livejournal.com profile] antane
Rating: PG-13 for epic battle sequences and some disturbing images
(... what? Don't look at me like that....)
Also background canon pairings.
Author’s Notes: This is a sequel to Gwaith i Innas Lain: Quenta Ando Rauco, which explains how the Winchesters met a couple of the characters who return here and how the boys started showing signs of Númenórean ancestry. You don't have to have read that story to understand this, but it may help with some of the SPN details that are different in this AU.
Summary: The Elves have long held that Túrin Turambar will return to lead the armies of the Valar against Morgoth in the Dagor Dagorath. They're not quite right. That honor goes to two young Americans descended from Túrin's cousin Tuor: Agarwaen and Mormegil--Sam and Dean Winchester.
Total word count: 39,522 (plus character list, glossary and notes)

For your reference, a list of characters is available here.
