I wish I'd known about this a few days earlier, but I thought it was worth posting anyway.

Have you wished that you could do something to help the people suffering from the devastation in Haiti?

There's a fantastic community called help_haiti. It's a fandom auction to raise money to help Haiti recover. There is already a flood of posts, but the more people who give, the better. :)

In the "Offering of Words," section, fan fic writers of all kinds and beta readers offer their talents up for auction. The highest bidder wins the item offered, whether it be a fic or beta reading services, and the winner then donates their bid to one of the charities listed on the community. There are also threads where people have offered their skills at art, vids, podcasts, foods, toys, jewelry, clothing and more.

You can bid up until noon (Eastern Standard Time) on January 20, 2010; new items can be added until 6:00 AM (EST) on January 20, 2010.
