New Year, New News, and a Poll

Hi everyone. :) It is I, your lurking mod, lol. I say lurking because I haven't been totally absent, really! Just incredibly busy. I know I've been woefully derelict in my duties, though, and I really apologize! But, with the new year coming, I'm making a resolution to try to post more regularly. And, another change will be coming with the new year too. a1cmustangpilot suggested posting weekly prompts to hopefully inspire some of you fantastic writers our there. :)

I think it's a great idea!

The prompts will be posted on Sunday each week, and there will be no time limit on responses, unless otherwise stated. There will be three word prompts, and one Bible verse prompt. You can use one, or all of them, it's entirely up to you. If you use the Bible verse prompt, the verse itself does not have to appear in the fic. Instead, the story can simply be inspired by it. Your response can be for any fandom, including original stories and poetry.

The prompts will start Sunday, January 9, 2011.

I'm hoping to get an idea of how many people plan to participate, so please take a minute to respond to this poll:

I chose 3 because in theory, I would answer as many prompts as I could. In practice, life gets in the way. I would love to see prompts here because I think it would get good fic going.

My thing is finding betas. My grammar isn't great but I have a huge imagination.

I don't know if this would be a perfect place for it, but I'd love to see a friending meme for Christians who are active in fandoms. It's really hard making friends in the usual fandom friending memes.

I certainly know what you mean about life getting in the way! The poll is just to hopefully get a quick idea of interest. :) It's nice to know that it's something you'd enjoy!

That's a great idea also! :) I've seen a couple friend memes, but have to admit that I'm not that familiar with them. Would you possibly be interested in helping set one up?

I could also add a thread for beta offers/requests. :)

Also, just putting it out there: I do beta. Grad school limits it somewhat so I now have to restrict myself to one-shots, but I still do it and particularly like helping fellow Christians improve their work. If you want help feel free to message me or comment on my Friends Only post.

I definitely am willing to be a beta for people! If I am not familiar with the fandom, all I can do is provide technical help, but if I do know the fandom, I can get a little more extensive. I'm quite flexible. :) Adorable icon, by the way!
